recognized tourism as a major industry in 1971. It's dependence
on tourism sector has made the economy over dependent on
the external economic factors. The country lies 1593 km
east of Kenya. Seychelles is situated in a zone free from
cyclones. The climate of Seychelles is so moderate and provide
a boost to the tourism sector in the country. All the main
islands are granite and Mahe is the important island, serving
as a migratory spot for birds.
